ネパール研修プログラム
本科目は、経営システム工学科の学部科目「経営実践・海外プロジェクト(2単位)」の一プロジェクトとして、ネパールをフィールドとした現地調査と分析を実践する研修プログラムです。ネパール・カトマンズのNational Collegeの全面的な協力を得て、日本人学生とネパール人学生がペアを組み、お互いに英語でコミュニケーションを取りながら、現地調査活動を行います。 フィールド調査から帰ってからは、調査によって明らかとなったことについてグループディスカッションを行い、問題解決のための施策について議論し合います。 毎年、研修プログラムを終了する頃には、とても強い友情の絆で結ばれた国際的な親友を得て、帰途につきます。ネパールという発展途上国の現状を体験を通じて知ると共に、英会話によるコミュニケーション、文化の違いに対する理解など、多くのことを学ぶことができます。

ネパール-ジャパン プロジェクト
なお、上記のネパール研修プログラムは、National Collegeの他、聖心女子大学(Brenda Bushell 先生)、国立総合研究大学院大学(柳生修二 先生)と共に進めるネパールジャパンプロジェクトの一環として実施している教育プログラムを、早稲田大学・経営システム工学科の2単位正規科目として運用しているものであり、ネパールジャパンプロジェクトは一年を通じて下記のような取り組みを行っています。
・国内外での研究発表： 毎年、学生リーダーとして参加したメンバーを中心に、ネパール現地で調査・分析した研究成果を，International Interdisiplinary Environmental Conference や環境教育学会などで発表しています。
・論文投稿： 研究発表をした成果のうち、特に学術論文としてまとめたものをInterdisciplinary Environmental Review誌や環境教育誌などに投稿しています。
・サマープロジェクト： 2006年より、8月の第1週にネパールのNational Collegeの学生が日本に来日して、日本における共同研修プログラムを実施しています。ネパール人学生への研修プログラムとしてのアクティビティを、日本人学生、教員が協力して作り上げ、10日間のプログラムを学生主体で実施します。
・ネパールに関する勉強会・支援活動： 毎年、3月の研修プログラム実施に向けて、ネパールに関する勉強会を開催すると共に、National Collegeと連携して様々な支援活動に取り組んでいます。
・ネパール研修プログラム： 毎年、3月に早稲田大学、聖心女子大学の学生チームを引率し、ネパールのカトマンズやチトワン国立公園、ナガルコット、ドュリュッケルなどをフィールドとしたフィールドプログラムを実施すると共に、調査研究活動を継続しています。
